GHOTI Screensaver

Good Host Of Teleost Information

Fishes included with GHOTI
Whether you're a novice computer user or an advanced user, a nontechnical person or a PhD, you'll love GHOTI, a new screensaver which evolves fish right before your eyes.

GHOTI (pronounced "fish") can be enjoyed just the way it is, as colorful and beautiful fishes diversify on your screen. Or, you can press some keys and have all the fishes' info at your fingertips, where you can examine and modify size, fin shape, coloration, color pattern, circadian and dietary habits, opsins and luciferase, and much much more. You can even load and save fishes to files on a disk, allowing you to share your fishes with your friends.

And GHOTI is flexible. By adjusting your screensaver properties, you can control the amount of diversity on your screen. You can watch a species evolve before your eyes. You can have a tank with just one unchanging species. You can even maintain a diverse ecosystem on your hard drive!

Although similar screensavers exist, because fish are so easy to simulate (and popular thanks to the creation/evolution debate), this program is completely original and was not inspired by anything. You've never seen a screensaver quite like GHOTI! And while other screensavers limit you to two or three fish at a time for performance reasons, GHOTI performs so well you can have ten or more fish at a time!
