Exciting new software!

MIF Editor provides a user frienldy means of storing multiband images - from the soft X-rays to the thermal infrared!

This is one of several new software applications available at www.eknent.com/software .

MIF Editor is the viewer/editor for the Multiband Image Format. It is perfect for astronomy, remote sensing/surveying, storing satellite images, and much much more. Its 256-band capability ensures that it can handle anything you can photograph. Its theoretical limit of resolution is 32,767 by 32,767 - well beyond the resolution of any commercially available camera - and it can handle any wavelength from 1 to 32,767 nanometers (.001 to 32.7 microns). Here is an example of what MIF Edtor can do. We photographed a lake scene using a CCD and some inexpensive filters. MIF Editor provides several ways to view images in false-color, and here is an example:

MIF Editor allows you to get multiband tone signatures from your image by simply sliding the mouse over it. It supports clipboard copying and pasting of individual bands or groups of three. It supports BMP, JPG, and PNG images, so you can assemble MIF images from scanned photos. And you can split your MIF images into a series of BMPs. Four kinds of image compression are supported, and password encryption is included.

You can download free evaluation versions of this and other programs at www.eknent.com/software/download.htm .
